Yes, the earth is warming up. But instead of CO2 the real reason is radiation increse from our sun during the reminder of the current activity cycle. The news media has strayed away from truth to populism and politics and is no more in position to tell the truth.
Still we have no reason to panic as the climate on earth remains livable regardless what we do. The world will change at pace of the nature as it has been changing already for billions of years.
The earth's temperature is controlled by totally overpowering physical and chemical phenomena that will balance everyting on due time. Our real trouble will arrive about 5 billion years from now after the sun has consumed all of it's Hydrogen and switches to Helium as it's fuel. The meeting in Copenhagen last week produced nothing new. They agreed to "limit" the further temperature rise on earh to two (2) degrees C. Nobody reported that in reality they only agreed that the major cycle peaks during the past 650,000 years are 2 degrees C above today's temperature.
During the past 600 million years the temperature has not been a problem to the survuival of various life forms. The problems have arisen only when any major celestial asteroid has hit the erath. During the last 650,000 years the normal temeprature variation range between the high and the low has been 10 degrees C.
The average temperature of the earth is actually 3 degrees C below the current level. As indicated above the history repeats itself and the arth temperature will increase the said 2 degrees of C before it starts going down. So the statement "we will limit the temperature increase of the earth to 2 degrees of C" will be true.
Below are 10 disticnctly different main proceses that control the temperature on the surface of the earth - it can be packaged a myriad of different ways depending on how the bread is sliced. The first 4 items determine the main development while the remaining 6 can be used for trying fine tuning it all:
- Tectonic plate movements and volcanic activity - the role of the surface or the solid crust of the earth:
- The thickness of earth's crust (floating on molten lava) varies from about 10 kilometers below the oceans to about 40 kilometers on dry land with peak at 70 kilometers under the Himalayas.
- The diameter of earth itself is about 12,700 kilometers.
- Below the crust is a thick layer of molten lava untill we reach the solid center of earth with diameter of about 2,300 kilometers consisting of iron with some nickel in it.
- Imagine the earth to be a round hot furnish with a highly insulating layer like an egg shell covering it (crust).
- We survive only because the temperature in the surrounding space (universe) is constant at -273 degrees C and it has only one far away heating element (our sun) that impacts us.
- The total heat loss to the universe is determined by the 4th power of the temperature difference between the earth's surface and the universe plus the heat radiation we get from our sun.
- Evaporation and condensation of water are both enormously powerful processes and the global scale of it all dwarfs everything that we have;
- Freezing and melting of ice in glaciers and polar ice caps is another enormously powerful process at global scale even when the nergy content of these processes is only 1/6th of the energy contained in evaporation/ condensation;
- The large amount of radiation energy the earth receives from the sun is absorbed, reflected and radiated to and from snow, ice, water, bare ground and vegetation;
- The energy tied by absorption and desorption of CO2 into and from the oceans is just a tiny fraction compared to any of the above;
- The same is valid also to conversion of CO2 to CaCO3 (=clay) into the oceans;
- The same is valid for conversion of CO2 to methane hydates in the oceans;
- The same is valid for storing CO2 in vegetation and algae above the ground and in the oceans;
- The same is valuid for storing of CO2 as peat on the swamp lands of the earth;
- The same is valid for cConversion of peat to natural gas, coals and oil below the surface of the ground or in sediments in the oceans;
The Media is telling us that the Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is causing the global warming. The related elements Hydrogen (H), Oxygen (O) and Carbon (C) are the 1st, 3rd and 4th most abundant elements in the universe. They can be bound together in a myriad of different ways and when we add some 50 or so more odd elements then we have everything that is found in every living creature on earth and likely in the rest of the universe.
The life on earth has been well recognizable for the past 600 million years. Despite of huge catastrophic celestial incidents that temporarily change the conditions on earth to almost unbearable for the many of the life forms we still evolved to separate species some 8 million years ago. The climate has been 80 times both much warmer and much cooler during our existence period. During these temperature variations the least adaptable species disappear while the more adaptables conquer space.
As a reminder we have found evidence of a thriving boreal forest in coastal Antarctica as recently as 3 million years ago. That phenomena has not existed during the last 650,000 years.
Our best temperature records cover this period of 650,000 years inside the ice core samples from Antarctica. There are plenty of temperature variations in these covering about 6 major and about 15 minor ice ages and a multitude of other smaller temperature cycles that can be explained a multitude of ways without solid proof for or against.
With our new technologies we have become the most adaptable species on the planet competing for this title with "water bear" and a multitude of microbes that latter ones have lived on earth already over 2.5 billion years. The new technologies may become handy one day a few billion years from now as we need to get out from this solar system at that time - our sun will start dying some 5 billion years from now and those who will not get out will be toasted! Of course if we continue our ways we have annihilated each others many times before that move becomes necessary.
Our dear Senator Lieberman "Flip-Flopped" his campaign promise with Al Gore and his well televised speech just a couple of months ago. He was until now a solid supporter of the "public option" in the health care reform by allowing the aging people over 55 or so to buy into medicare as their option. This option would be crucial for this group to maintain health care availabilty in case they get unemployd for longer time periods or are no more employed at all.
Senator. Lieberman now does not want to have anything to do with any "public option" in any form. Why this "Flip-Flop"?
It is obvious to all of us here down on the ground who must pay have skyrocketing health care insurance premiums orchestrated by the health care industry. Here is an example, a real emergency room trip where nothing else was done except one liter of saline water solution was administered had a price tag of US$ 5,000. (As a funny side issue this saline water solution contains salt many times over the recommendation levels. Of course we need salt on a daily basis but the medical community is insisting heavy reductions here - if the farmers would do the same for their cattle they would simply die for various diseases fairly quickly).
Mr. Lebermans healt care thoughts are though much more sinister than it looks at the surface.
The European Union told Israel just a couple of weeks ago that Jerusalem will be the Capital for two States, Israel and Palestine.
The EU also told Israel that it has rights only to the borders she had in 1967 and not to anything it has stolen from the Palestinians by building a myriad of diconnected unviable "Bantustans" in the Palestinian lands where they are now forcing the Palestinianas to settle.
President Obama was until recently increasingly synpathetic to the Palestinian causes and that has infuriated the Regime in Israel. The prime minister Mr. Netanyahu tells openly that they, Regime of Israel, control the USA through their full control over the Congress (what about also the Federal Reserve Bank?).
With this Sernator Lieberman is trying to tell to the President of the USA in not uncertain terms that the USA must change her policies towards Israel or all the President's domestic policies will suddenly grind to halt in the Congress.
With this he is also telling the President of the USA that there should be no banking reform in the USA that would impact the control over FED. This control is today solidly in the hands of the European and Israeli banking empires.
These two are the most visibler reasons behind the Senator Lieberman's "Flip-Flop" but there could be much more. We should start questioning his real motives in the public life. It was because of him that Al Core lost his Presidency and we ended up attacking and occupying both Iraq and Afghanistan. You may not remember but our dear Senator was at the time planning to devote his Saturdays in the White House for his religious activities as per the Jewish customs. Perhaps he had not paid attention to the same adherance to the restrictions of the Sabbath inside the Regime of Israel. Were this delibare statements in this matter there to support W instead of his real running mate? It for sure played to the hands of the Regime of Israel.
