GMO Foods - what is their impact to the human reproduction - what do we know about it?
So far we have no answers of their impact to our reproductive systems. Of course Monsanto's scientists have not seen any impact as of yet as we humans are not multiplying like rabbits or lemmings. The scientists on their payroll can of course say honestly: "we see no impact from our studies". How could they? This whole GMO field is younger than a single human reproduction cycle!
However, the Nature around us is telling an alarming story of the relationship between changes in DNA and the fertility of various species. This result is readily observable e.g. from the annual plants and it is alarming.
How do we answer to Monsanto & al., who openly target global ownership of all our food supply? They took us all with a surprise when they got their first patent that allowed patenting of life itself. People had tried this earlier but the US Patent office had always rejected such efforts as nonsense. They should have done the same but this time the decision makers in the USPTO had a new opinion. Was the same tactics used that color the US congressional elections that somehow elects only the "pre-approved people".
e taken a sneak advantage on this path after they received patents covering gene manipulations first in cereals and then in livestock. The US patent office has approved their patents that grant them ownership to anything that contains their genetic markers.
Genetic markers can be put to almost anything including the humans by injecting or feeding them genetically modified materials. Sooner or later some of this genetically "marked" material is bound to get combined with existing genes of the host species be it a plant or a live animal or even a person. These "markers" or gene sequences can then be identified in laboratory and that has been sufficient proof for the US legal system. Monsanto has been involved developing this specific species and is entitled to compensation.
Unfortunately the consequences of this all is not that simple. Let' look an example from the flowers, how the nature modifies a species:
The earth is continuously bombarded with high energy particles from outer space and whenever these particles hit atoms in the DNA they dislocate an atom and a modification to two of our flowers on the field. Instead of having the natural 5 pedals in it's flower this dislocated atom causes this specific plant to produce 6 pedal flowers.
The flower looks the same for the bees and they keep on doing their job without noticing the difference - 5 or 6 pedals is all the same. They go from plant to plant and all should be just fine.
There is however one big difference. Neither of these new flowers produce seeds and when the next spring comes there are no 6 pedal flowers any more on the field.
There is also another difference. ALmost all the 5 pedal flowers produced seeds as the bees were very active but did they miss some of the flowers. No, they did not but what happened there were bees who happened to go directly from the 6 pedal flowers to the 5 pedal flowers pollinating these. The bees knew of no difference in their business but now these specific 5 pedal flowers did not produce any seeds either. They got pollinated with an incompatible DNA and that did not work.
The nature gets these gene modifications continuously and sometimes but very rarely these modified DNA plant can actually pollinate each others but not the original plants or rarely even the original plants. When they can pollinate each others a new plant species may have been born. The question is now can it survive and sometimes it can. What is true with plants is more so true with the animals. However with much longer life spans the birth of new species in animal kingdom is rare but it happens and that is the reason we are no more living in trees.
The major danger from gene modifications is that the species with different genes are unable to reproduce. When genetic modifications come more and more common the question is how about the humans. We eat a multitude of cereals and meats. When we eat them we get this new gene material into our bodies and some of it is bound to combine with our own DNA. It is not so big issue for us as we are already alive but if we have not yet reproduced it may be that we will never reproduce because our DNA has become incompatible with the human reproductive DNA.
THE APPARENT IMPACT TO REPRODUCTIVE CYCLES IS REAL DANGER WITH ALL GMO FOODS! The solution is not simple as many of the cereals pollinate themselves in open air and once introduced they can spread their influence in the nature automatically by wind up to a mile or two further each year while impacting the same time the whole ecosystem around. We are tampering with the nature on issues that we do not understand properly. The GMO products are not even close to being ready for commercialization and perhaps they should never be commercialized. With them we impact the whole food change of the nature from the tiniest bacteria to the largest land and sea dwelling creatures.
Monsanto has taken over the responsibility of the "God" if there is one, and even if there is none they are still playing "God" while knowing practically nothing of the intricacy of the countless trillions of different relationships impacting the survival of the various species be they plants, microbes or other living creatures above and below the water surface. Why can we say: they know almost nothing? Simply, because we as a species called Homo Sapiens know practically nothing of these relationships.
We need to take legal action to stop companies like Monsanto roaming the world without any kind of restrictions before it is too late. The constitution in the USA is not in favor of Monopolistic businesses. Monsanto appears to have created one and is expanding it fast towards a real super "Monopoly" that will cover the whole planet. The biggest danger is that we have no idea of the final outcome. The planet is currently well balanced between it's reproductive systems as they are. This Monsanto system will inevitably require a new balance in the reproductive systems in the coming new world of species. It may happen, but it may as well fail and the earth might end up looking exactly like Mars is today.
